We don’t don’t always know a bug when we see one. This is true for noobs and Symphony experts alike. And this forum is naturally the space where you should ask questions when you’re unsure about how (or if) something is working, or when you encounter unexpected behavior. Once you’re sure you’ve got a bug, though, whether in Symphony itself or in an extension, here’s what to do:

  1. Report the bug in Symphony’s Github issue tracker or in the extension’s Github issue tracker.
  2. If you’ve been discussing the bug here in the forum, post a link to the issue you created on Github. If you created a new discussion before you realized it was a bug, leave a comment asking an admin to close the thread.

A few bug-reporting guidelines:

  • Remember to be as specific as you can, and include examples if appropriate.
  • Check manifest/logs/main and include any related error messages you see there

We do plan to move all the issue tracking to Symphony itself at some point, but for now, Github is the best option.

As of Symphony website version 3, all bug reporting must be done on the internal issue tracker
