It would be great if the forum would automatically show images attached to posts as files (only png, jpg and gif). Currently you have to upload an image on post creation, copy the attachment link and edit your post to enter the image markup. As a consequence you’ll have both the file inside your post and the attachment links below.

Additionally the consensus appears to be in favour of either showing images in a lightbox, or sending the correct image MIME type and not forcing them to be downloaded.

Remove “forced download” for images
