Threads like this can be very useful and get some help to us - beginners. So, if you can please, provide some list of top 5 (or 10) must have Symphony extensions?

I know that it depends on sites profile or structure, but I believe that there are some “everyday plugins” that saves $time, $love AND $money… and they are…?

My must haves for any site:

  • Cachelite
  • Configuration Settings
  • File Manager
  • Order Entries
  • XML Importer
  • Zen Coding

there are plenty of others, but these are useful almost all the time.

My list is here. It was a discussion about submodules…

And my list here: Default Extensions. Most commonly:

  • Publish Filtering
  • Unique Input Field (almost always chosen over core Input Field for titles/handles)
  • Order Entries
  • Unique Upload Field (always chosen over core File Upload)
  • Pages Field (a Select Box of pages)
  • Global Resource Loader (for attaching sitewide Data Sources to all pages)

mmmm…Zen coding is really sexy thing :)… and Global Resource Loader too.

Tnx guys!

Zen coding is really sexy thing :)

;-D

Here’s mine

  • CacheLite
  • Custom Preferences
  • Date and Time
  • Order Entries
  • Section Schemas
  • Subsection Manager
  • Zen Coding

Workflow:

  • Subsection manager
  • Documenter
  • Author Section

UI:

  • A Richtext editor (either CKEditor or TinyMCE)
  • Calendar for datefield (jquery datepicker or calendar overlay if you also want to include time)

Great lists here, I’ve been trying some out! I never knew about Zen Coding before, got the plugin for Coda, and wow, it’s brilliant! Will be a must have extension for me!

I’ve not been using Symphony long but here are mine:

  • TinyMCE
  • Subsection Manager
  • Custom Preferences
  • Static Section
  • Order Entries
  • File Manager
  • And now, Zen Coding

A few others that aren’t neccessarily a must have, but are nice to have:

  • Dashboard - mainly for client benefits)
  • Multiselect to Checkboxes - easier to select multiple items
  • Symphony 3 admin style - just because I like the Symphony 3’s backend style!

cool to see other people’s set ups. here’s some of my go to’s:

  • order entries
  • global resource loader
  • subsection manager
  • unique field upload
  • tracker
